The Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, Professor K C Chan, will depart for Shanghai tomorrow evening (May 19) to attend the Lujiazui Forum 2011, entitled "The Financial System and Its Macro Management in a New Era". He will speak at a plenary session entitled "New Opportunities for Shanghai in Becoming a Global Financial Centre".
The three-day forum, which will start tomorrow, is jointly organised by the Shanghai Municipal People's Government, the People's Bank of China, the China Banking Regulatory Commission, the China Securities Regulatory Commission and the China Insurance Regulatory Commission.
Professor Chan will return to Hong Kong on May 21.
