Appeal for information on fatal traffic accident in Mong Kok

     Police today (May 16) appealed for information on a traffic accident in which a 73-year-old man was injured in Mong Kok on May 7 and later died.

     At about 4.45 pm on May 7, a light goods vehicle driven by a 73-year-old man was travelling northbound along Yu Chau Street. After making a right turn to the third lane westbound of Boundary Street, the vehicle reportedly knocked down a 73-year-old man who was crossing the road.

     Sustaining serious injuries, the man was rushed to the Kwong Wah Hospital. He was certified dead at 6.27 am on May 9.

     Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic Kowloon West are proceeding.
