Employer fined for breaching MPFS Ordinance

The following is issued on behalf of the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority:

     An employer was fined a total of $46,500 at Kwun Tong Magistrates' Courts today (May 16) after being convicted of offences under the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Ordinance (the Ordinance).

     Full Success Holdings Limited (BR no.: 33249772) was charged with an offence under section 7(1) of the Ordinance. The defendant was convicted of a count of failing to enrol an employee in an MPF scheme as required by the Ordinance. The defendant was fined $9,000 for the summons.

     Full Success Holdings Limited was also charged with an offence under section 7AA(7) of the Ordinance. The defendant was convicted of eight counts of failing to make MPF contributions to the MPFA for an employee who was not a member of a registered scheme within the prescribed time for the contribution periods from August 2009 to March 2010. The defendant was fined $4,500 for each of the first seven summonses and $6,000 for the remaining summons, totalling $37,500.
