Unlock Dancing Plaza to stage "Hose of Dancing Water"
*****************************************************

Progressive and innovative local modern dance company Unlock Dancing Plaza will perform their latest production, "Hose of Dancing Water", next month.

A house without "u" becomes "hose". What role do u play in the creative process in Hong Kong? How do u measure good art these days? Do u always get what u pay for? What do u want to get out of it anyway?

Choreographed by Yuri Ng, "Hose of Dancing Water" will be performed by Ong Yong Lock, Cho Tak Po, Goh Boon Ann, Rodney Wong, Lim Wei Wei and Ronald Tsang.

Yuri Ng received ballet training in Hong Kong at the age of six and furthered his training in Canada and England. He joined the National Ballet of Canada as a dancer in 1983. Since his return to Asia in 1993, Ng has choreographed for various organisations and performing groups. He was named "Artist of the Year - Choreography", by the Hong Kong Artists' Guild in 1997, and the following year received the Bagnolet Award for Choreography from France with his "Boy Story".

Unlock Dancing Plaza was founded in 2002 by Ong Yong Lock and Elsie Chau. By liberating the constraints of the stage, the company strives to discover new ways to appreciate and experience dance. The company is keen to collaborate and interact with artists from different disciplines in order to search for the intricacies of life and beyond, while also seeking to close the gap between performers and audience.

Presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, "Hose of Dancing Water" will be staged at 8pm on June 10 and 11 (Friday and Saturday), at the Theatre, Sheung Wan Civic Centre. Tickets priced at $120 and $180 are now available at URBTIX outlets, on the internet and by credit card telephone booking. Half-price tickets are available for senior citizens aged 60 or above, people with disabilities, full-time students and Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) recipients (limited tickets for CSSA recipients available on a first-come, first-served basis).
