The Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Henry Tang, will depart for Chengdu, Sichuan, on May 4. Members of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government delegation joining the visit include the Secretary for Development, Mrs Carrie Lam; the Permanent Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs, Mr Joshua Law; Team Leader, Sichuan Reconstruction, Development Bureau, Mr Mak Chai-kwong; and representatives of relevant bureaux and departments.
While in Sichuan, the delegation will meet with officials of the Sichuan Provincial Government, attend a ceremony to commemorate the completion of a number of reconstruction projects funded by Hong Kong, and inspect some reconstruction projects.
Mr Tang will return to Hong Kong on May 6. During his absence, the Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs, Mr Stephen Lam, will be acting Chief Secretary for Administration on May 4 and the Secretary for Education, Mr Michael Suen, will be acting Chief Secretary for Administration on May 5 and 6.
