S for S visits Sai Kung District (with photos)

     The Secretary for Security, Mr Ambrose S K Lee, visited Sai Kung District this afternoon (April 26). Mr Lee met local residents and District Councillors and gauged their views on government services and law and order in the district.

     Accompanied by Sai Kung District Officer, Mr Wu Kam-yin, Mr Lee also visited the Direction Association for the Handicapped, which helps persons with congenital or acquired disabilities. The association aims to develop their potential by encouraging mutual help while also fighting for their rights and social status. Through participation in community activities, it helps its members contribute to society and in so doing seeks to build an equal and harmonious society.

     Mr Lee then visited the association's computer room to learn about how the members use sensory devices to operate computers and intelligence home control systems, as well as the association's wheelchairs maintenance service. He also took the opportunity to talk to the persons with disabilities and listen to their needs, and encouraged them to adopt a positive attitude towards life.

     Mr Lee later visited Sai Kung Old Town and shops assisted under the Sai Kung Old Town Revitalisation Project. He also chatted with local residents and District Councillors about daily life and their views on law and order in the local community.

     He also visited Muk Min Shan Road to look at the road improvement and drainage works.
