A No.3 alarm fire broke out at a recyclable storage site on Ping Ha Road, Tin Shui Wai, today (April 24). A large quantity of scrapped electrical appliances, computers and miscellaneous articles were damaged by fire. The affected area measures 40 metres x 80 metres. A single storey tin-sheeted structure was also damaged and collapsed.
The fire broke out at 12.28pm and was upgraded to No.3 alarm at 12.47pm.
Firemen mobilised nine jets and eight breathing apparatus teams to fight the blaze. The fire was largely put out at 2.25pm.
Two firemen who felt unwell were sent to hospital for treatment.
No suspicious circumstances about the cause of fire were detected.
