Three charities will hold flag sales this Saturday (April 23) from 7am to 12.30pm. They are: on Hong Kong Island, Retina Hong Kong; in Kowloon, The Society for Community Organisation Limited; and in the New Territories, Pok Oi Hospital, a spokesman for the Social Welfare Department (SWD) said today (April 20).
Arrangements have been made with the charities to help people distinguish between the three flag-selling activities.

Information on the flag days of the month is also available at the department's website (www.swd.gov.hk/en/index/site_whatsnew).
If any fraudulent flag day activity is suspected, people should not make any donation and should immediately report the matter to the police.
The Government has promulgated the "Reference Guide on Best Practices for Charitable Fund-raising Activities" for voluntary compliance by charitable organisations. Members of the public may browse the Reference Guide on the SWD homepage (www.swd.gov.hk/en/index/site_pubsvc/page_controlofc/sub_referenceg).
