CSSA caseload for March

     The overall Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) caseload in March showed an increase of 277 cases over February, representing an increase of 0.1%, according to the latest CSSA caseload statistics released by the Social Welfare Department today (April 20).

     Total CSSA caseload at the end of March stood at 282 732 (see attached table), with a total of 462 564 recipients.

     Analysed by case nature, unemployment cases registered a month-to-month decrease of 0.2% to 29 364 cases while low-earning cases showed a decrease of 0.7% to 14 088 cases.

     Both single-parent and ill-health cases registered a decrease of 0.1% to 34 142 cases and 25 221 cases respectively.

     However, old age and permanent disability cases registered a month-to-month increase of 0.2% and 0.5% to 154 096 and 18 491 cases.
