Firearms and ammunition seized in Sham Shui Po

     Police are investigating a suspected possession of arms and ammunition without a licence case in Sham Shui Po.

     About 6.53pm yesterday (April 15), Police received a report that a man was accidentally injured in a flat at Fu Wen House, Fu Cheong Estate in Sham Shui Po. Upon arrival, Police found that a 63-year-old man had a gun shot wound on his left thigh, and he was then rushed to Princess Margaret Hospital for medical treatment. After initial investigation, it was suspected that a rifle had discharged by accident.

     Police later seized firearms, model guns, air pistols and various types of ammunition with different calibres and models inside the flat. Officers of the Forensic Firearms Examination Bureau and the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Cadre took away the seizure for further examinations.

     Police arrested a 59-year-old woman at scene for possession of arms and ammunition without a licence. She has been released on police bail and will report back in late April.

     Active investigations by Regional Crime Unit of Kowloon West are underway.
