Vacancy in Yuen Long District Council

The Government today (April 15) gazetted an elected seat vacancy in the Yuen Long District Council.
As Mr Leung Fuk-yuen has become an ex officio member of the Yuen Long District Council by virtue of his holding office as Chairman of the Rural Committee, his office as an elected member of the Yuen Long District Council Shap Pat Heung North Constituency has become vacant pursuant to sections 10 and 26(b) of the District Councils Ordinance (Cap. 547).
The Registration and Electoral Office will arrange for a by-election.
