Police appeal for witnesses to fatal traffic accident in Tai Po

     Police are appealing for witnesses to a fatal traffic accident in Tai Po on April 4 this year in which a 77-year-old man died.

     About 8.30am on that day, a taxi driven by a 53-year-old man was travelling along Tai Po Tai Wo Road towards Kowloon. When reaching near the junction with Ting Kok Road, it reportedly hit a 77-year-old man who was riding a bicycle.

     Sustaining head and shoulder injuries, the cyclist was rushed to Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital for medical treatment. He was subsequently transferred to Prince of Wales Hospital where he was certified dead at 2.57am on April 11 (Monday).

     Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North, are underway.
