News.gov.hk interviews retired Director of Immigration Simon Peh
************************************************************

Simon Peh has fond memories of Lo Wu, the cross-boundary checkpoint that thousands of people pass through each day. He began his career with the Immigration Department as an immigration officer there in 1978, and easily recalls the atmosphere at the time.

Interviewed by news.gov.hk upon his retirement, he recounted some of the highlights of his 33-year-career.

Technology has played a vital role in the department's development and ability to cope with increased demand for immigration services, Mr Peh noted.

He said he would miss his colleagues who have become his good friends after all these years. "I hope they all find their jobs meaningful and enjoy their work as much as I did."

The full text and video of the interview appear on news.gov.hk today (April 1).
