Male mime actor to perform a pregnancy story
********************************************

"40 Weeks of My Pregnancy" is Heiquan Theatre's third "Hong Kong story" poignantly told through mime, following "Rhapsody Out of the Lift" and "Blind Photographers". Mime actor Chiu Kin-tong plays multiple roles, presenting a story of pregnancy interpreted not by a woman, but by a man.

The most beautiful moment in a woman's life is when she gives birth. For the single mother, it is tough to be left to face 40 weeks of pregnancy alone. Despite her frustration, at the moment she hears the faint heartbeat of her baby, she decides to give it her all - even if it means putting her own life on the line...... As she watches her belly grow, the most bizarre, unimaginable happenings transpire one after the other, until devastation strikes. She realises that it is not just her taut belly that is experiencing the tremors of change, but her gentle, untouched, deeply recessed soul.

This is a crossover production with video and animation that takes audiences on an exploration of the limits of the imagination.

Presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, "40 Weeks of My Pregnancy" will be staged at 8pm, on May 13 and 14 (Friday and Saturday); 3pm, on May 14 and 15 (Saturday and Sunday) at the Black Box Theatre, Jockey Club Creative Arts Centre.
