The Government today (April 1) announced the appointments of Mr George Fok and Mr William Leung as members of the Digital 21 Strategy Advisory Committee.
The appointments take effect from April 1, 2011, until September 30, 2012.
"We welcome Mr Fok and Mr Leung to the Committee. As veterans in the information and communications technology industry and the financial services sector, they will provide valuable advice to us," the Acting Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Gregory So, said.
The Committee, chaired by the Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, advises the Government on the goals and objectives, areas requiring further action, desired outcomes, and strategies and programmes facilitating the delivery of desired outcomes under the Digital 21 Strategy, the blueprint for information and communications technology development in Hong Kong.
Mr George Fok is the Managing Director of PCCW Solutions Limited and Mr William Leung is Head of Personal Banking at Hang Seng Bank. They are to replace respectively Mr Daniel Ng and Mr Eli Sinyak, who have resigned for personal reasons.
