Theatre du Pif to perform award-winning comedy
**********************************************

Renowned Canadian director Jovanni Sy ("Blackbird" and "Antigone") returns to Theatre du Pif for the third time to direct the award winning comedy "God of Carnage", which was written by renowned French playwright Yasmina Reza and translated by Christopher Hampton.

"God of Carnage" won the 2009 Laurence Olivier Award for Best New Comedy (UK) and the 2009 Tony Award for Best Play (US). The plot involves two sets of parents who meet to resolve a conflict between their two children, but what is supposed to be a civilised meeting turns into a barrage of name-calling, tantrums and tears. When the gloves come off, dirty laundry is aired hilariously and the evening soon escalates into an all-out war.

Reza's brutally funny satire has proved a must-see play around the world, with sell-out seasons in the West End and Broadway.

The performers include Lee Chun-chow, Leanna Brodie, Sean Curran and Jo Chim. The programme will be performed in English with Chinese and English subtitles.

The performances will be staged at the Studio Theatre, Hong Kong Cultural Centre. Details are as follows:

May 26 - 28 (Thursday - Saturday) 8pm
May 28 (Saturday)                 3pm
May 29 (Sunday)                   5pm
