Police are investigating a murder and suicide case in which a 61-year-old man died and his 53-year-old wife was killed in Wong Tai Sin this morning (March 22).
About 9am, Police received reports that noise was heard from a flat at Wang Fai House of Wang Tau Hom Estate. Police officers and firemen sped to the scene and forcibly opened the door of the premises. A 53-year-old woman was found lying unconsciously on the floor inside. A chopper was seized in the flat.
Nearly at the same time, another report was received that a man fell from height and landed outside the same building. Investigations revealed that the man was the husband of the injured woman.
Sustaining multiple wounds on her body including the neck, the woman was certified dead by the ambulancemen at the scene. Her husband was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 9.36am.
After initial investigations, it is believed that the couple had a dispute earlier in the flat, and the man committed suicide after attacking his wife.
Post-mortem examinations will be conducted tomorrow (March 23) to ascertain the causes of death of the couple.
Active investigations by District Crime Squad of Wong Tai Sin are under way.
