Police yesterday (March 19) arrested a 29-year-old man in connection with a suspected murder case in which a 64-year-old missing woman was killed on Lamma Island.
The woman was last seen in her niece's home at Tai Yuen Village, Lamma Island on March 15 and then went missing. Her niece made a report to Police on March 16.
Police found the woman's body at the residence of her niece at about 4pm yesterday.
Police subsequently arrested a 29-year-old man in suspected connection with the case at Central Pier at about 5.30pm. The man will be detained overnight pending further enquiries.
A post-mortem examination will be conducted later to ascertain the cause of death of the woman.
Active investigations by the Regional Crime Unit of Marine are underway.
