An additional flight arranged for Hong Kong Residents to leave Tokyo
*********************************************************

Due to the evolving situation at the Fukushima nuclear facility, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government today (March 19) continues to advise Hong Kong residents currently in Tokyo to consider making use of additional flights to return to Hong Kong or moving to the south of Japan.

The HKSAR Government makes available an additional flight from Narita Airport (CX 2509, departing at 9.50pm, local time) tomorrow (March 20) to facilitate the return of Hong Kong residents. Residents should register by calling (852)1868 or sending an email to 1868@immd.gov.hk if they wish to take this additional flight. Airport transfer will be provided to residents taking this flight if they assemble at the HKSAR Government helpdesk at the Keio Plaza Hotel (Shinjuku, Tokyo) 6.5 hours prior to flight departure. Residents may make their own arrangement to the airport.

In addition to the helpdesk, the HKSAR Government support team will continue to station at the Narita and Haneda airports to render assistance to Hong Kong residents.

The HKSAR Government has arranged four additional flights (and relevant local airport transfer) between Tokyo and Hong Kong from March 18 to March 20.

Details of the helpdesk and updates will be promulgated at the websites of Security Bureau, Immigration Department (ImmD) and Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Tokyo.

Hong Kong residents who need to stay in Tokyo are advised to register their telephone numbers, email addresses and local addresses with the ImmD via: 1868@immd.gov.hk.

Security Bureau will continue to closely monitor the situation and issue updates through the media and the Outbound Travel Alert webpage (www.sb.gov.hk/eng/ota).

Residents outside Hong Kong who need assistance may call the 24-hour hotline of the Assistance to Hong Kong Residents Unit of the Immigration Department at (852)1868.  The Chinese Embassy in Japan has set up a hotline (81-3-34033064) to render assistance to Chinese citizens including Hong Kong residents.
