Little Life Warriors enjoy art performances at Government House (with photos/video)
**********************************************************

More than 80 children and their family members from the Little Life Warrior Society enjoyed a concert and drama performance at Government House on the day before its open day.

Among the visitors were about 30 young patients and survivors of cancer and severe blood diseases and children who had undergone bone marrow transplant.

They were greeted by the Under Secretary for Transport and Housing, Mr Yau Shing-mu, at Government House today (March 19). They toured the 155-year-old building and admired the blossoming azaleas and other plants in the garden.

The visitors then watched performances by students from the School of Music and School of Drama of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts at the ballroom.

The first part of the performance was a brass concert with french horn, trumpets, trombones and tuba. The students also gave an introduction of the characteristics of these instruments to the audience.

It was followed by an enjoyable and fun interactive drama about monkeys performed by students of the School of Drama.

Established in 2002, the Little Life Warrior Society is a mutual aid organisation for child cancer patients and their parents.

The Government House will be open to the public from 10am to 5pm tomorrow.
