Results of 2010 Meritorious Websites Contest announced

     Ten meritorious websites were commended at the award presentation ceremony for the 2010 Meritorious Websites Contest today (March 19).  They are:

     To encourage greater access to healthy websites among young people and to recognise the contribution of healthy website producers, an additional five websites were chosen by the professional adjudication panel for special recommendation.  They are:

Consumer Council: www.consumer.org.hk
Labour Department - Youth Employment Start: www.e-start.gov.hk
GovHK: www.gov.hk

     The above websites are rich in content, covering a wide range of topics including traditional Chinese culture, natural science, youth information, news, medical information, current affairs and television education.

     The contest was jointly organised by the Television and Entertainment Licensing Authority, the Education Bureau, the Committee on Home-School Co-operation, the Hong Kong Internet Service Providers Association and Radio Television Hong Kong.  The contest under the theme "Surf smartly. Spend our time wisely" was well-received with over 100 entries.  Over 18,000 individuals from more than 200 schools and voluntary organisations cast votes.
