Approved Yuen Long Outline Zoning Plan amended
**********************************************

The Town Planning Board today (March 18) announced amendments to the approved Yuen Long Outline Zoning Plan (OZP).

The amendments mainly involved rezoning two pieces of land at the periphery of Tung Tau Industrial Area, one to the west of Wang Yip Street West and another to the north of Tak Yip Street, from "Other Specified Uses" annotated "Business" or "Other Specified Uses" annotated "Business (1)" to "Residential (Group E)1". The maximum plot ratio and building height restrictions for the sites are specified in the Notes.

The planning intention of the rezoning is to phase out existing industrial uses through redevelopment (or conversion) for residential use on application to the Board.

The draft Yuen Long OZP No. S/YL/19, incorporating the amendments, is now available for public inspection during office hours at the Secretariat of the Board, the Planning Enquiry Counters in North Point and Sha Tin, the Tuen Mun and Yuen Long District Planning Office, Yuen Long District Office, Shap Pat Heung Rural Committee and Ping Shan Rural Committee.

Any person can make written representation in respect of the amendments to the secretary of the Board on or before May 18, 2011. Representations made to the Board will be available for public inspection.

Copies of the draft OZP are available for sale at the Map Publications Centres in North Point and Yau Ma Tei. The electronic version of the plan can be viewed at the Board's website at www.info.gov.hk/tpb.
