Special traffic arrangements at Tseung Kwan O Chinese Permanent Cemetery

     The Transport Department today (March 17) reminded grave sweepers that the access road leading to the Tseung Kwan O Chinese Permanent Cemetery would be closed by the Police to all vehicular traffic including KMB special bus route No 14S, with the exception of emergency vehicles, from 5.30am to 8pm on March 20, 27, April 3, 5 (Ching Ming Festival), 10, 17 and 24.

     In addition, a general road closure will be implemented on March 19, 26, April 2, 9, 16, 22, 23 and 25, May 1 and 2 from 5.30am to 6pm daily. On these general closure days, KMB's special bus route No 14S will run from 7am to 5.25pm between Lei Yue Mun Road, Yau Tong and the Cemetery. All vehicles except KMB special bus route No 14S, emergency vehicles, hearses, vehicles in funeral processions and vehicles possessing a permit issued by the cemetery are prohibited from using the access road leading to the cemetery.

     A Transport Department spokesman appealed to the public to make full use of public transport, avoid going to the cemetery on busy days and follow the instructions of police or other personnel on duty. If members of the public are going to take KMB route No 14S, they should be aware of the dates of the general road closure.
