Radiation level in Hong Kong is normal

     In response to a message circulating on the Internet today (March 15) which said that the radiation from Japan would affect Hong Kong, a spokesman for the Hong Kong Observatory said the message was unfounded.

     Based on the Observatory's assessment of the weather situation, the chance of radiation from Japan reaching Hong Kong in the next few days is slim.

     The path of the air mass approaching Hong Kong in the coming days clearly indicates that its origin is far from Japan. Details of the path can be found at:
