The Labour Department will hold a two-day job fair at Tuen Mun Town Hall from March 17 to 18.
A total of 40 companies will participate at the fair, coming mainly from the retail, catering and property management industries, and offering a total of over 3,500 vacancies. Twenty organisations will set up counters and conduct on-the-spot recruitment on each day.
The vacancies offered cover a wide variety of positions including shop assistants, sales staff, cashiers, waiters and waitresses, kitchen helpers, security guards, stock keepers, cleaners, sales representatives and shop managers. Job seekers wanting to know more about the vacancies may visit the department's website on Interactive Employment Service (www.jobs.gov.hk).
About 82% of the vacancies offered are full-time jobs. The majority of the vacancies offer a monthly salary ranging from $6,000 to $10,000 and the most of them require Secondary Five educational level or below. Over 60% are open to job seekers without relevant experience.
Job seekers can submit applications on the spot and may be selected for on-site interviews. The Labour Department will also conduct on-the-spot registration for job seekers.
The job fair will be held from 11am to 5.30pm at the Exhibition Gallery, 1/F, Tuen Mun Town Hall, 3 Tuen Hi Road, Tuen Mun. Admission is free.
