Attempted murder and attempted suicide in Tuen Mun

     Police today (March 8) reclassified a wounding and attempted suicide case in Tuen Mun last night (March 7) as an attempted murder and attempted suicide case in which a 14-year-old girl was seriously injured. Police arrested a 44-year-old man in suspected connection with the case. He is still being detained pending further enquiries.

     About 10.55pm yesterday, Police received a report that a 14-year-old girl sustained serious injuries at the ground floor of Hing Shing House, Tai Hing Estate in Tuen Mun. Police sped to the scene and found the girl with multiple chop wounds on her chest. She was rushed to Tuen Mun Hospital in unconscious state.

     Initial investigation found that the arrested man had earlier attacked the victim with a knife at a park nearby, and then committed suicide with a cutter. He sustained neck injury and was sent to Tuen Mun Hospital.

     Active investigations by the District Crime Squad of Tuen Mun are underway.
