A murder suspect returned to Hong Kong (with photo)

     A murder suspect was returned by the Jiangxi Public Security Bureau to the Hong Kong Police (HKP) through Huanggang Boundary Control Point today (February 25).

     The 52-year-old man was suspected to be in connection with a murder case happened on November 10 last year in which a 73-year-old man was found lying unconscious on the floor inside a unit of Tseng Tau Tsuen on Sai Sha Road. He sustained some wounds to his head and was subsequently certified dead at scene.

     Extensive investigations by Regional Crime Unit of New Territories South led to the identification of the suspect. As he was believed to have left for the Mainland, HKP through its Liaison Bureau sought the assistance of the Shenzhen and Jiangxi Public Security Bureaux in locating him. The man was subsequently arrested by the Jiangxi Public Security Bureau in Nanchang last December.
    
     The 52-year-man was also believed to be involved in a burglary case happened on June 15, 2009 in which a house on Hong Lok Yuen Road in Tai Po was burgled. Some personal properties which worth about $3 million were stolen.

     Active investigations by the Regional Crime Unit of New Territories South are underway. The man is being detained for further enquiries.
