Public forums for "Study on the Action Plan for the Bay Area of the Pearl River Estuary"

     The Planning Department will hold public forums on March 3 and April 9 respectively to collect public views on the Study on the Action Plan for the Bay Area of the Pearl River Estuary.

     "Members of the public are welcome to join the forums and share their views with us. We welcome public opinion on this conceptual study," a spokesman for the Planning Department said.

     Details of the two forums are as follows:

First Forum
Date: March 3, 2011 (Thursday)
Time: 7pm - 9.30pm
Venue: Hall, G/F, Duke of Windsor Social Service Building, 15 Hennessy Road, Wanchai, Hong Kong
 
Second Forum
Date: April 9, 2011 (Saturday)
Time: 2.30pm - 5pm
Venue: Exhibition Hall, 4/F, Hong Kong Productivity Council Building, 78 Tat Chee Avenue, Kowloon
 
     Associate Professor of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Professor Alexis Lau, and Director of the Sino-Forest Applied Research Centre for Pearl River Delta Environment of Hong Kong Baptist University, Professor Jonathan Wong, will share their views on what constitutes a "liveable bay area" in terms of the regional environment as well as from an ecological conservation perspective.

     The forums will be conducted in Cantonese and English. Simultaneous interpretation will be provided. Members of the public who are interested in joining the forums can visit the Study's website at www.prdbay.com or the Planning Department's website at www.pland.gov.hk for further details.
