Police are investigating a traffic accident in Chai Wan this afternoon (February 18) in which an 82-year-old man was killed.
About 5.30pm, a medium goods vehicle driven by a 45-year-old man was travelling along southbound Fung Yip Street. When approaching Sheung On Street, it reportedly knocked down the 82-year-old man who was crossing the road.
Sustaining serious legs injuries, the man was taken to Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital where he was certified dead at 6.14pm.
Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Hong Kong Island, are underway.
