Approved Sha Tin Outline Zoning Plan amended

     The Town Planning Board today (February 11) announced amendments to the approved Sha Tin Outline Zoning Plan (OZP).

     The amendments mainly involve rezoning five sites to the south of Sha Tin Road from "Residential (Group A)", "Residential (Group B)", "Open Space", "Government, Institution or Community" ("G/IC"), "Green Belt" and area shown as "Road" to "Residential (Group A)1"; rezoning of a site close to Sha Tin Road from "Residential (Group A)" and area shown as "Road" to "G/IC"; rezoning of a site at the southern part of Area 52 from "Residential (Group B)" and "Open Space" to "G/IC"; and rezoning four strips of land on existing slopes and along Sha Tin Road from "Residential (Group A)", "Residential (Group B)" and area shown as "Road" to "Green Belt".

     Building height and gross floor area restrictions are added to the newly rezoned sites, where appropriate.

     The draft Sha Tin OZP No.S/ST/24, incorporating the amendments, is now available for public inspection during office hours at the Secretariat of the Board; the Planning Enquiry Counters in North Point and Sha Tin; the Sha Tin, Tai Po and North District Planning Office; the Sha Tin District Office; and the Sha Tin Rural Committee.

     Any person can make written representations in respect of the amendments to the Secretary of the Board on or before April 11. Representations made to the Board will be available for public inspection.

     Copies of the draft Sha Tin OZP are available for sale at the Map Publications Centres in North Point and Yau Ma Tei. The electronic version of the plan can be viewed at the Board's website at www.info.gov.hk/tpb/.
