Top Chinese troupe to thrill with acrobatics show

     The Leisure and Cultural Services Department has invited the Yunnan Acrobatic Troupe of China to demonstrate their stunning skills and ethnic charm by performing "The Daughter of Emperor".

     This highly talented troupe will entertain the audience with award-winning programmes including "Foot-Juggling with Rugs - Camellias in Bloom", "Aerial Silk ¡V The Stream Flowing", "Balancing Bowls on the Head", "Strap Gymnastics", "Hand Juggling - Straw Hats", "Rolling with Lamps", "Handstand", "Hoops Diving", "Contortions" and "Hula Hoops".

     The Yunnan Acrobatic Troupe of China was formed in 1956. Since then the troupe has performed almost constantly, always improving its technique and gradually establishing a unique style, as well as developing the careers and skills of many excellent acrobats through the expertise of many experienced performers, directors, trainers and costume and stage designers. The troupe derives inspiration from the colourful cultures and arts of the ethnic minorities native to Yunnan Province, and has merged their vibrant artistic styles into a programme of highly skilled acrobatics. Both domestic and international audiences have praised the troupe's energetic and elegant performances.

     The performances will start at 7.30pm. Details are as follows:

     "The Daughter of Emperor" by the Yunnan Acrobatic Troupe of China is one of the attractions of "Family Fun 2011". Tickets priced at $100, $140 and $180 are now available at all URBTIX outlets, on the Internet and by credit card telephone booking. Half-price tickets are available for senior citizens aged 60 or above, people with disabilities, full-time students and Comprehensive Social Security Assistance recipients (CSSA) (limited tickets for CSSA recipients available on a first-come, first-served basis).
