Special traffic measures in Mong Kok Flower Market Road Area

     Police will implement special traffic arrangements at Flower Market Road Area during and before the Lunar New Year period.

(A) Temporary road closures and traffic arrangements
  
     The following road closures and traffic arrangements will be implemented between 8am on January 29 and 8am on February 3 and when necessary:

1. No vehicle will be allowed to access Flower Market Road, Yuen Ngai Street, Yuen Po Street and a section of Prince Edward Road West Service Road between Sai Yee Street and Embankment Road, except good vehicles with permission for unloading activities from 12.01am to 5pm daily. Vehicles from westbound Prince Edward Road West are not allowed to turn right to northbound Sai Yee Street.

2. Subject to the prevailing traffic situation, the following roads may be closed:
- A section of Sai Yee Street between Prince Edward Road West and Boundary Street;
- A section of Fa Yuen Street between Prince Edward Road West and Boundary Street;
- A section of Playing Field Road between Tung Choi Street and Sai Yee Street; and
- A section of Prince Edward Road West Service Road between Sai Yee Street and Nathan Road.

(B) Temporary Suspension of bus and minibus stops

- The bus and minibus stops outside 191 Prince Edward Road West will be suspended from 6pm on February 1 to 6am on February 2, and from 2pm on February 2 to 7am on February 3; and
- The bus and minibus stops on Tung Choi Street outside Mong Kok Police Station will be suspended and temporarily relocated to 225 Tung Choi Street from 6pm on February 1 to 7am on February 3.

(C) Temporary Suspension of Taxi Stand

The taxi stand on Fa Yuen Street near Prince Edward Road West Service Road will be suspended from 8am on January 29 to 8am on February 3 and designated as temporary pick-up and drop-off points.
 
(D) Temporary Suspension of Parking Spaces

1. The meter parking spaces at the section of Tung Choi Street between Prince Edward Road West Service Road and Boundary Street will be suspended from noon on January 25 to 8am on February 3;
2. The meter parking spaces at the section of Fa Yuen Street between Prince Edward Road West Service Road and Boundary Street will be suspended from 8am on January 29 to 8am on February 3;
3. The meter parking spaces at the section of Playing Field Road between Tung Choi Street and Sai Yee Street will be suspended from 3pm on February 2 to 8am on February 3;
4. The motorcycle parking spaces on Tung Choi Street near Playing Field Road will be suspended from noon on January 25 to 8am on February 3;
5. The motorcycle parking spaces at the following locations will be suspended from 8am on February 2 to 8am on February 3:
(a) A section of Playing Field Road between Tung Choi Street and Fa Yuen Street; and
(b) A section of Prince Edward Road West Service Lane between Tung Choi Street and Sai Yee Street;
6. The disabled parking spaces on Fa Yuen Street near Boundary Street will be suspended from 8am on January 29 to 8am on February 3; and
7. The disabled parking spaces on Playing Field Road near Tung Choi Street will be suspended from 8am on February 2 to 8am on February 3.

(E) Entry/Exit MTR Prince Edward Station

     Subject to prevailing crowd flow in and out of MTR Prince Edward Station on February 2, a pedestrian flow system will be implemented as follows:

     Exit A (Playing Field Road junctions with Nathan Road) will be used for exit only. Members of the public wishing to go to the Flower Market Road area are advised to leave the Prince Edward Station via Exit A and proceed along Playing Field Road to Sai Yee Street where they may queue up for access to the Flower Market. For those who wish to go to the Fa Hui Park Market Fair, they should leave the MTR station via Exit A and proceed north along Nathan Road to Boundary Street.

     Entrance B2 (Prince Edward Road West junctions with Sai Yeung Choi Street South) will be used for entry only. Members of the public who wish to access Prince Edward Station from the Flower Market and the Fa Hui Park Market Fair via Prince Edward Road West should use Entrance B2 or by using Entrance C1 & C2.

     Due to the maintenance works being carried out at Mong Kok Stadium, roads usable in the vicinity of Flower Market Road and Boundary Street are relatively narrower than that in previous years. The Police remind citizens wishing to shop on Flower Market Road area to do their shopping as early as possible, and to follow Police instructions at scene.
