To help dwellers of bedspace apartments understand how to apply for public rental housing, officers from the Housing Department (HD) paid visits to licensed private bedspace apartments in various districts in the last two days.
A spokesman for the HD said today (January 19) that HD officers had explained to the dwellers the eligibility criteria and procedures for public rental housing application, and distributed application forms and explanatory notes to those who had not yet been registered on the General Waiting List, during visits conducted on the evenings of Monday (January 17) and Tuesday (January 18). They have also been informed of the hotline number in case of enquiry.
Upon completion these two visits by the HD as well as through non-government organisations, application forms for public rental housing and related explanatory notes had been distributed to all licensed bedspace apartments in Hong Kong.
These bedspace apartments are located in Yau Tsim Mong, Sham Shui Po and Kwun Tong in Kowloon, and Wanchai and Eastern District on Hong Kong Island.
Interested parties should send the completed application forms together with necessary documents by mail or hand them in at the Housing Authority's Customer Service Centre in Lok Fu.
