The Census and Statistics Department (C&SD) published today (January 14) Issue No. 1 of Hong Kong Economic Trends in 2011.
Published on a half-monthly basis in the middle and at the end of each month, this publication presents in bilingual form the up-to-date monthly and quarterly data of major economic indicators for readers to grasp the pulse of Hong Kong's economy before more detailed statistics become available.
Statistical data are presented in tables and charts. Topics covered include external trade; labour, employment and earnings; national income; Balance of Payments account; external debt; consumer prices; commerce; industrial production; construction and real estate; energy consumption; telecommunications and Internet services; tourism; transport; money and finance; and stocks and shares.
C&SD has recently conducted a review on the printing of statistical publications and has decided that the print version of Hong Kong Economic Trends will no longer be produced starting from the 2011 series. Nevertheless, the publication is still available for downloading free of charge from the website of C&SD at www.censtatd.gov.hk/products_and_services/products/publications/statistical_report/general_statistical_digest/index_cd_B1010001_dt_detail.jsp.
