Draft To Kwa Peng and Pak Tam Au Development Permission Area Plan gazetted

     The Town Planning Board today (January 7) announced the publication of the draft To Kwa Peng and Pak Tam Au Development Permission Area (DPA) Plan.

     The area covers a total of about 24.96 hectares, with about 9.77 hectares in the To Kwa Peng area and 15.19 hectares in Pak Tam Au area. It is encircled by Sai Kung East Country Park in the east and Pak Tam Road and Sai Kung West Country Park in the west.

     A spokesman for the Town Planning Board said the general planning intention is to protect the area's high landscape value, which complements the overall natural quality and landscape beauty of the surrounding Sai Kung East and Sai Kung West Country Parks.

     The entire area is designated "Unspecified Use", pending detailed analysis and studies to establish the appropriate land uses in the course of preparing an Outline Zoning Plan.

     The draft To Kwa Peng and Pak Tam Au DPA Plan is now available for public inspection during office hours at the Secretariat of the Town Planning Board, the Planning Enquiry Counters of the Planning Department in North Point and Sha Tin, the Sha Tin, Tai Po and North District Planning Office, Tai Po District Office and Tai Po Rural Committee.

     Any person may make representations in respect of the draft plan to the Secretary of the Board on or before March 7.

     Copies of the draft plans are available for sale at the Map Publications Centres in North Point and Yau Ma Tei. The electronic version of the plan can be viewed at the Town Planning Board's website (www.info.gov.hk/tpb).
