Fatal traffic accident in Mong Kok

     Police are investigating a traffic accident in Mong Kok this evening (December 12) in which a 49-year-old man was killed.

     About 7.50pm, a private car driven by a 44-year-old man was travelling along Boundary Street towards Kwun Tong. When approaching near Embankment Road, it reportedly knocked down the 49-year-old man who was crossing the road. It was believed that the 49-year-old man was then hit by another private car travelling on the same direction. The car left the scene afterwards.

     Sustaining serious head injuries, the man was taken to Kwong Wah Hospital where he was certified dead at 9.25pm.

     Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West, are underway.

     Police appealed to the driver of the private car who had left the scene after the accident to contact the Police. Anyone who saw the accident or who has any information is also urged to contact the investigating officers on 2773 5200.
