The Committee on Home-School Co-operation (CHSC) today (December 7) released the e-version (in Chinese and English) of the Secondary School Profiles 2010-2011. The printed version (in Chinese) will be delivered to primary schools for distribution to parents with children at Primary Six level in the current school year.
The Secondary School Profiles 2010-2011 contain information provided by individual schools showing the position as at September 2010. The profiles cover basic information at more than 400 secondary schools, including details about teaching staff, class structure, school facilities, school characteristics, school life, extra-curricular activities, student support and school curriculum; as well as the schools' teaching strategies including whole-school language policy.
The profiles aim to provide comprehensive secondary school information for parents' reference. Regarding the profiles, Professor Wong Po-choi, Chairman of the CHSC, wrote an article entitled "Letters to parents – New Thoughts on Selection of Schools", to share relevant experience.
The e-version of the profiles enables schools to update their information on the web direct, whenever necessary, and parents can obtain the most up-to-date school information.
The public can access the e-version of the profiles at www.chsc.hk/secondary. Copies of the printed version will be available for public reference at District Offices, public libraries, Regional Education Offices and the Central Resources Centre of the Education Bureau (EDB).
