The Labour Department will hold a two-day job fair at Sha Tin Town Hall from November 25 to 26. A total of 42 organisations will participate in the fair, offering a total of more than 3,200 vacancies.
Twenty-one organisations will take part each day. They will set up counters and conduct on-the-spot recruitment. Organisations participating on the first day of the fair come mainly from retail, property management and transport industries, whereas those taking part on the second day are from the hospitality and catering industries.
Vacancies offered cover a wide variety of positions, including shop assistant, sales, cashier, waiter/waitress, kitchen assistant, security guard, room attendant and supervisor. Job seekers who want to know more about the vacancies may visit the department's website on Interactive Employment Service (www.jobs.gov.hk).
About 76% of the vacancies offered are full-time jobs. The majority of the vacancies offer a monthly salary ranging from $6,000 to $10,000. Almost all of these vacancies require Secondary Five education level or below. About 70% of them are open to job seekers without relevant experience.
Job seekers may submit applications on the spot and may be selected for on-site interviews. The Labour Department will also conduct on-the-spot registration for job seekers.
The job fair will be held from 11am to 5.30pm at the Exhibition Gallery, 1/F, Sha Tin Town Hall (next to New Town Plaza), 1 Yuen Wo Road, Sha Tin, New Territories. Admission is free.
