EPD exhibition to enhance public awareness of climate change (with photos)
************************************************************

The Environment Protection Department (EPD) has organised a series of exhibitions showing the impact of climate change on Hong Kong, starting today (November 14) and continuing until December 5.

"Climate change brings about severe weather conditions which pose an unprecedented challenge for human beings. The exhibition aims to enhance public awareness of the issue so that they can prepare to take mitigation measures. It also encourages people to give their views on the strategies for tackling climate change," an EPD spokesman said.

Scientists have indicated that if we make concerted and imminent mitigation efforts, we might avert the impact of climate change at lower cost. Therefore, members of the community should be prepared to help make Hong Kong a low carbon city, the spokesman said.

Apart from illustrating the impact of climate change on Hong Kong and ways of reducing carbon emissions, the exhibition also offers interactive games booths to enhance public understanding of the issue. Artiste Nancy Wu also took part in the exhibition today, including having some fun with members of the public.
