A spokesman for the Department of Health (DH) said today (November 10) that tests on samples of Wintex Tong Hang Wan Pills revealed that the samples' mould and yeast count was within the permissible limit of Hong Kong's standards.
On October 26, 2010, DH inspectors examined the premises of the local manufacturer of the pills and obtained samples of the product and other products for microbial limits testing. The move followed detection of excessive amounts of mould and yeast in Wintex Tong Hang Wan Pills (batch number: PN0702W1) by the Macao Health Bureau.
All test results of samples collected by DH, including those for mould and yeast, were within the permissible limit of Hong Kong's standards.
