The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) today (October 29) announced details concerning winter lifeguard services at its 32 gazetted beaches.
At present, lifeguard services at LCSD beaches are provided from 9am to 6pm daily. Lifeguard services during the winter (November 1, 2010 to March 31, 2011) are as follows:

Lifeguard services at the remaining 24 LCSD beaches will be suspended from November 1, 2010 to March 31, 2011. The beaches are South Bay Beach, Chung Hom Kok Beach, St Stephen's Beach, Shek O Beach and Turtle Cove Beach in Southern District; Trio Beach, Kiu Tsui Beach, Hap Mun Bay Beach and Clear Water Bay First Beach in Sai Kung District; Hung Shing Yeh Beach, Lo So Shing Beach, Kwun Yam Beach, Cheung Chau Tung Wan Beach, Silver Mine Bay Beach, Pui O Beach, Upper Cheung Sha Beach, Lower Cheung Sha Beach and Tong Fuk Beach in Islands District; Butterfly Beach, Castle Peak Beach, Kadoorie Beach, Cafeteria Old Beach and Cafeteria New Beach in Tuen Mun District and Ma Wan Tung Wan Beach in Tsuen Wan District.
The LCSD urges the public to observe water safety and swim at the beaches only when lifeguard services are available. Please do not enter the water when the red flag is hoisted.
