The Kowloon East Regional Traffic Day was conducted between 7am and 11pm yesterday and 198 officers from Traffic Kowloon East and District Traffic Teams of Wong Tai Sin, Sau Mau Ping and Kwun Tong were deployed to enforce regulations at traffic accident black spots and potential traffic accident locations in the Kowloon East Region.
Another 165 FPTs were issued for illegal parking and other parking offences.
A total of 206 pedestrians and 71 drivers were verbally warned for jaywalking and other minor traffic offences.
Meanwhile, pamphlets and leaflets on road safety message were distributed to road users.
Statistics show that a total of 1,451 traffic accidents involving casualties occurred in the Kowloon East Region from January to September 2010.
