Fatal traffic accident in Stanley

     Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Stanley last night (October 22) in which a 52-year-old man was killed.

     About 11.30pm, a motorcycle driven by the 52-year-old man was travelling along Cape Road towards Chung Hom Kok. When approaching a roundabout, the motorcycle reportedly lost control and turned onto its side.

     The motorcyclist sustained serious chest injuries and was rushed to Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital in conscious state, but he was later certified dead at 2.43am. Meanwhile, a 34-year-old male passenger on the motorcycle sustained injury to his left leg and was sent to the hospital for medical treatment.

     Investigations will be conducted by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Hong Kong Island.

     Anyone who may have witnessed the accident or has any information is urged to contact the investigating officers on 3106 8800.
