The following is issued on behalf of the Legislative Council Secretariat:
It has come to the attention of the Legislative Council Select Committee to Inquire into Matters Relating to the Post-service Work of Mr Leung Chin-man (the Select Committee) that reports appearing to speculate on the content of the Select Committee report and the results of the Select Committee's internal deliberations were published by two local newspapers on October 19, 2010. The Select Committee expresses grave concern about this. As the report of the Select Committee is still at the drafting stage, the Select Committee has yet to finalise its views on the matters under inquiry and the recommendations to be made. In order not to prejudice the impartiality of the work of the Select Committee and bring unfairness to the witnesses concerned, the Select Committee hereby makes this statement for the purpose of clarification.
