The overall Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) caseload in September showed a decrease of 512 cases over August, representing a decrease of 0.2%, according to the latest CSSA caseload statistics released by the Social Welfare Department today (October 20).
Total CSSA caseload at the end of September stood at 285,444 (see attached table), with a total of 468,140 recipients.
Analysed by case nature, unemployment cases registered a month-to-month decrease of 0.2% to 31,134 cases while low-earning cases showed a decrease of 1.0% to 14,679 cases.
Single-parent cases and ill-health cases also registered a decrease of 0.7% and 0.1% respectively to 35,088 and 25,370 cases.
Permanent disability cases registered a month-to month increase of 0.1% to 18,336 cases.
