A roving exhibition was launched today (October 15) in Metro City Plaza, Tseung Kwan O, to promote Hong Kong's participation in World Expo 2010 Shanghai China (Shanghai Expo).
The three-day exhibition opens daily from 10am to 10pm until Sunday (October 17). A model of the Hong Kong Pavilion is on display at Metro City Plaza so that visitors can explore the characteristics of the Pavilion's architecture.
Hong Kong Week at Shanghai Expo will be held from October 18 to 22 at the Baosteel Stage in the Shanghai Expo Park. Panels, videos and a computer presentation at the exhibition in Tseung Kwan O gives visitors a flavour of the exciting events and activities organised for Hong Kong Week.
Visitors to the Metro City Plaza exhibition will have the opportunity to pose for photos with the Shanghai Expo mascot "Haibao" from 1pm to 5pm tomorrow and on Sunday.
A photo booth will be open from noon to 8pm each day with exhibition assistants on hand to take photos of visitors. The images will be mounted in a commemorative Hong Kong Pavilion photo frame as a souvenir for visitors while stocks last.
This exhibition is the last of a series of roving exhibitions held at different venues around Hong Kong during the Shanghai Expo, which will end on October 31.
Hong Kong has a strong Expo presence. The focal point is the stand-alone Hong Kong Pavilion under the theme "Hong Kong - Potential Unlimited", while Hong Kong's Urban Best Practices Area Exhibition is themed "Smart Card ¡P Smart City ¡P Smart Life". Netizens can also experience the city's virtual presence in the Expo Shanghai Online project.
More than 60 events and activities involving some 100 performances are being staged by Hong Kong in Shanghai during the six-month Expo period to showcase Hong Kong's cultural diversity, creative talent and modern lifestyle.
