The Labour Department will hold a two-day job fair at Lai King Community Hall in Kwai Chung from October 14 to 15.
A total of 40 companies will participate in the job fair, with 20 companies taking part each day. They will offer a total of over 2,800 vacancies and will set up counters and conduct on-the-spot recruitment.
Companies joining the job fair mainly come from the catering, retail and property management industries. Vacancies offered cover a wide variety of positions such as shop assistant, sales, cashier, waiter or waitress, kitchen assistant, security guard and supervisor. Job seekers who want to know more about the vacancies may visit the Interactive Employment Service on department's website (www.jobs.gov.hk).
Over 80% of the vacancies offered are full-time jobs. The majority of the vacancies offer a monthly salary ranging from $6,000 to $9,000. About 97% of these vacancies require Secondary Five educational level or below. About 70% of them are open to job seekers without relevant experience.
Job seekers can submit applications on the spot and may be selected for on-site interviews. The Labour Department will also conduct on-the-spot registration for job seekers.
The job fair will be held from 11am to 5.30pm at Lai King Community Hall, 205 Lai King Hill Road, Kwai Chung (near MTR Lai King Station Exit A1). Admission is free.
