Officers of the Commercial Crime Bureau (CCB) today (October 7) arrested eight more men, aged 18 to 48, for conspiracy to defraud in an operation against suspected false loan application relating to Non-means-Tested Loan Scheme (NLS) involving two private education centres in Yau Ma Tei.
In addition to the twelve persons arrested earlier today, Police have further arrested this evening seven male students, aged 18 to 22, and a 48-year-old man, who was an agent referring students to the education centres.
All twenty persons arrested today were still being detained for enquiries.
Police believed that the fraud syndicate had been neutralised.
The operation is still in progress.
