The Centre for Health Protection (CHP) of the Department of Health did not receive any reports of influenza-like illness (ILI) outbreaks in schools during the 24 hours ending at noon today (October 6).
Reports about hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) outbreaks involving nine persons in three schools were received during the same period.
The above brought to 61 and 94 respectively the cumulative totals of ILI and HFMD outbreak reports since the start of the new school term in September.
Schools should refer to the guidelines on prevention of communicable diseases for practical information on preventive measures of common communicable diseases. More information are available on the website of CHP at www.chp.gov.hk.
