Man charged with shooting with intent to do grievous bodily harm

     Police today (October 5) charged a 36-year-old man with one count of shooting with intent to do grievous bodily harm.

     The man was arrested in connection with a case in which one gun shot was heard inside a shopping centre in Wan Chai district in the evening on Sunday (October 3).

     Initial investigation by officers of the District Crime Squad of Wan Chai revealed that the man and a 40-year-old man, who were cash escort guards, had a dispute while they were performing cash escort duty. The 36-year-old man fired a shot with his Remington shotgun used for cash escort.

     The 36-year-old man was charged with one count of shooting with intent to do grievous bodily harm and will appear at the Eastern Magistrates' Courts tomorrow morning (October 6). The 40-year-old man was arrested for common assault and was released on Police bail pending further enquiries.
